Permit, you can enjoy legal residency while continuing
to work for a company outside of Malta. This program
provides a flexible way to
live in one of Europe’s most desirable
destinations for up to four years.

• Proof of remote work (employment contract,
service agreements, business ownership etc…)
• Proof of health insurance coverage in Malta
• GDPR form
• IF applicable, Change of Name document
• IF minor dependents are included in the application,
parents’ declaration is required. IF custody was awarded
relative documentation must be provided.
• In the case of de facto partnerships:
• Joint bank accounts
• Proof of relationship
• Notarised affidavits from relationship witness
• Third-country nationals (non-EU and non-EEA) who do not

• Can reside in Malta without contributing to its tax system
• Pay taxes in your home country while contributing to the
Maltese economy through accommodation, food, and leisure.
• Employees, freelancers or self-employed professionals
who generate their income from outside Malta, are eligible for a Nomad Visa.
• Visa will be valid for one year, renewable for up to four years.
• Whole families are also eligible along with the main applicant.
These include the spouse and minor and/or adult children of the
MA and/or spouse (adults must not be married and must be
principally financially dependent on the MA).
• Settle in amongst an English-speaking population with a
wide expat community construed of nearly 30% of the total Maltese population (NSO, 2023).
• Can tap into one of Europe’s booming real estate industries.
• Malta was one of the first EU countries to launch nation-wide 5G network
• Eligibility to travel throughout the Schengen zone for a total of 90 days out of 180 days.
• Minors will benefit from a vast selection of prestigious
governmental, church or private schools. On the other hand,
adults can opt for language or evening classes.
• One can apply for education courses within Schengen zone,
provided that you adhere to the above travel limit. This allows
for flexibility in pursuing educational opportunities across
Europe. This also applies for healthcare.
• Malta’s healthcare system ranks among the best in Europe,
with Malta placed 5th in the Euro Health Consumer Index
for accessibility and quality of care.
• Cannot be working for a Maltese company
• Applicant must be over 18 years old and must possess a clean criminal record
• Employed, self-employed, or freelance with a gross
annual income of €42,000 or more.
• Main applicant must hold proof of accommodation
throughout authorisation, either by renting or
purchasing a property, and must spend at least 5 months in Malta.
• Proof of property rental and health insurance.
• Family members can join you.
• A €300 permit fee and a €27.50 card fee to be paid to the Maltese authorities.
